My grandfathers Birthday

April 30th, 2008 by Luke

My parents ended up taking him out to dinner, but before they took him they stopped by and got him a real lotto ticket. His present was a fake lotto ticket of him winning $10,000. So they took him out to dinner and gave him the tickets. He thought it was a joke, my parents told him that was his gift; so he scratched the real one and got $4.

He was like ok this is dumb so he waited a little bit and my parents had to convince him into scratching the actual winner. So they told him if you win the next one you could buy us dinner. So he scratched the fake and he won $10,000 dollars so he was in shock and didn’t say anything for a minute then they asked so did you win? He said, “Yeah I won $10,000 dollars” everyone was freaking out but my parents, my parents were laughing there head off.

My grandfather was so bummed.

Yeah, your dad thought it would be a funny gag pre-gift for Pap’s 60th birthday. The dinner was actually the gift. Your dad gave Pap the card with the real ticket taped inside the card & gag ticket taped under it. So at first glance, you think they’re both real. He really believed he won. Grammy too. It really wasn’t funny to have to inform them it was a gag.
